Year 1 were set a strange challenge today in their PE lesson. They are working on fundamental movement skills and have been working on throwing and catching. Today, they were challenged to catch a ball in a cone!

The children have continued their topic of controlling objects. This week they were excellent at dribbling a basketball. The worked hard to control the ball whilst standing still and then developed the skill at dribbling whilst walking.

Reception used their problem solving skills to navigate the playground climbing frame. Some of us needed to use all of our courage as it was quite high in parts - we were proud of our success.

Year 1 have been perfecting and refining their balancing and spinning in PE this week. They have worked to combine the movements together to make a combination routine.

This week in our indoor PE lesson, the children have been developing the skills to spin and balance on the tummies, backs, bottoms, feet and hands. The children demonstrated good control and safe transitions and movements on the equipment.
