Year 1 have had lots of fun during their Number Day celebrations. We started with art using paint, loose parts, Lego and pens to create symmetrical artwork. They then had to work systematically to solve the problem of scarves and hats for the penguin from our story Lost and Found. Finally they finished off their morning with number and movements - following instructions to move in different ways for a set number of times!

Year 1 Science
In Science last week, Year 1 continued their exploration of seasonal changes, focusing on Summer. We were very lucky as the sun came out in the afternoon and we were able to use the UV beads to show the strength of the sun in different areas of the playground. We discussed sun safety and what could happen if you look at the sun with your eyes.

Numbers day 2026 in Y5
Y5 have had a great Numbers day! They explored patterns in timetables and made some interesting discoveries; they developed their measuring skills by accurately measuring their arm lengths and displaying this data on bar graphs. They also used their problem solving skills to find a key code to escape a problem solving challenge!

For Numbers Day, children in year 4 explored the work of Italian artist Tobia Rava, who creates artwork using numbers. Inspired by his style and our class text The Ice Palace, children designed their own skeletal trees. They then filled their designs with numbers to combine maths and art in a creative way.
