Online Safety

Information for Parents

Technology and the internet  offer incredible opportunities for our children – helping them to learn, express creativity, connect with others and enjoy entertainment. Digital tools are more integrated than ever into daily life – from smart devices and AI assistants to online classrooms and social platforms.

Our children are growing up in a connected world and using technology effectively means using it safely, responsibly and respectfully. While there are risks – such as exposure to inappropriate content, cyberbullying, and misinformation – these can often be avoided or managed with the right guidance.

As parents and carers, our role isn’t to prevent children from using technology, but to empower them. That means helping them build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed decisions, behave respectfully online and protect their wellbeing. Together, we can support our children in becoming responsible, kind and thoughtful digital citizens who use technology in positive and meaningful ways.
