Reception spent the week being scientists and conducting lots of different experiments.
Gingerbread Man Experiment
We explored what would happen to the Gingerbread Man if he got caught in the rain. We compared the Gingerbread Man when he was dry and when he was wet. We predicted what would happen to him and carefully observed how he changed during the experiment.
Bread Making for the Little Red Hen
We made bread like the Little Red Hen did in our class story. We talked about how the flour changed when we added water to create a dough. We left our bread in a warm place and checked on it to see if it had risen. Once it was baked, we got to taste it and it was delicious.
Making Butter
We had lots of fun making butter, we had to shake the jar of cream very hard to churn it into butter. We didn’t think it would work but eventually it did!
Testing Materials
We used magnets to test out a range of different materials to see which ones were magnetic and which weren't.
