Year 4: How can a series of dots and dashes save someone’s life?

Year 4 have been exploring the Morse Code. Did you know that it was created by Samuel Morse after the news that his wife was sick arrived to Morse a month too late and he returned home to find that his wife had died! Morse created a series of dots and dashes – the Morse Code – to speed up communication over longer distances. We learnt the international help signal: SOS and used lights and buzzers to recreate the code.
