Updated: Nov 17

We have had a very busy couple of weeks  reception. The children have worked  together like 'collaborative caterpillars'  to help each other  learn new things.

We are counting and ordering numbers to 5, and using lots of language around these numbers. Ask your children to tell you about  these numbers.

At dinner times we do cosmic kids yoga, the children are getting very good and enjoy trying to control and strengthen the muscles their bodies.

We have made fireworks using 3-D shapes. We can talk about these shapes and are learning the names of them.

The children watched  https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b04p4zsl/poppies The children discussed this and shared ideas. They stood for 2 minutes to remember the soldiers.

As you can see we have some very creative children in reception and they made their own Poppy pictures.

This week we have also had stories about Diwali and made a lot of rangoli patterns and looked at words linked to Diwali. We know we need to look at the sounds at the beginning of words to help us red them; some of us are beginning to write these words.

We had so much fun making our own Divas as we know that the light from the candle means that good will always win.

We hope you all had a lovely weekend.
